Torchwood Series 3 Viewing Party

Greetings Everyone,

In response to several inquiries that we have received about our forthcoming Torchwood events for Series Three, I wanted to let you all know the plans as they stand.

BBC1 has not yet announced a date for the airing of Torchwood: Children of Earth. This date needs to be confirmed before we can begin to plan any viewing parties for this Series. Rest assured that Hurricane Who will be having two events to mark this.

The First will be a viewing party for Series 3. The BBC has announced that it will air on five consecutive nights, Monday thru Friday. Our party will be taking place on the Saturday night after the series has aired. There are plans in place to try and make this a more relaxed event, but plans cannot be made firm until the schedule is announced.

Second we have our upcoming Inside the Hub 2 event. This will take place a week or so after the viewing party. We have been speaking to a few guests in regards to attending. But again, this is awaiting the air date of Series 3.

If you have any ideas for things that you would like to see in the future, or want to give some input into the organizing of these events, the entire Hurricane Who staff will be at Cricketers Arms for our Pub night on May 30th. We will be more than willing to listen to any ideas or feedback that you might have then.

I wish I had more in stone to tell you right now.. but we are in ‘wait and see’ mode. As soon as we hear something definite, we will let you know.

Guest Announcements for Hurricane Who

There have been some recent additions to our Guest List that we are very much looking forward to. Now joining us this October in Orlando are:

Gareth David-Lloyd – “Ianto Jones” – Torchwood, Doctor Who

Having joined us for our very first Inside the Hub event, Gareth is a wealth of insight and fun. With Torchwood Series Three coming this summer, there are bound to be more stories to be told and more laughs to be had.

India Fisher – “Charley Pollard”, Big Finish Productions

Once in a while there comes a Companion that stands out from the rest. Before Rose ever encountered the Bad Wolf, or Donna Noble had something on her back, Charley Pollard was having amazing adventures in the TARDIS in the Big Finish Audio Range. Fisher has be a companion to both the Eighth Doctor (as played by Paul McGann) and the Sixth Doctor (as played by Colin Baker). As her journeys with the Sixth Doctor continue this Summer, we are sure she will have interesting stories to share.

Tony Lee – Writer, IDW Comics

With an extensive background, including X-Men and Superman, Tony Lee is no stranger to the world of Comic Books. With the publication of The Forgotten last year, as well this years on-going 10th Doctor Series, Lee is not a stranger to the world of Doctor Who. With a keen insight into the world of comics and writing, Tony will be an invaluable source of knowledge on this popular medium.

We are excited to be welcoming these three to Florida in the style that only we can do!!

Children of Time Meeting

The Time has come for us to have a Children of Time Meeting for March. This will take place on Saturday, March 28th, at Cricketers Arms. There will be NO COVER for this meeting. This is just a night for us all to get together, have a drink, a bite, and a laugh as we watch some great TV on a REALLY big screen. While there is no cover, we do request that if you plan on attending that you RSVP. This way we can have a good estimate on attendance.

Torchwood Babiez at Hurricane Who!!

It is one of the most widely read comic strips in Who Fandom, and this October we are getting a chance to chat with its creators. We are pleased to announce a new addition to our Guest List.

Tammy Garrison, Head Writer for the Acclaimed Online Comic, will be joining us for a very special panel at Hurricane Who. Tammy will be discussing the creative process behind the imaginative comic, as well as giving insight into how you might be able to start your own!!!

It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce the Third Guest that will be joining us Easter night at Cricketers Arms.

John Leeson - The Voice of K-9

John first appeared in the Classic Series in 1977, and has reappeared in the Series in all of its forms ever since. From assisting the Doctor return Earth to its proper place in “Journeys End”, to protecting Sarah Jane and Luke from certain doom in The Sarah Jane Adventures, K-9 has been an invaluable member to the Children of Time.

Leeson has also appeared in such great shows as Dads Army, Blakes 7, and ‘Allo ‘Allo.
